Many folks are coming into Portland a day earlier than Esozone itself and plan on being there, so you should too! BYOB is acceptable [but not during Esozone itself.]

The FORUMS are back up now, so use them! http://esozone.com/discuss/
There are also folks using http://community.livejournal.com/occult_portland/ for these purposes

We have our full schedule available for download here and a sub-optimal HTML version here (we’ll have a better HTML version up this evening).
Bad news first: Wes Unruh and James Curcio are unable to attend this year. James’s audio installation will still be present. Ikipr will be performing solo Sunday night, and Esozone executive director Klint Finley will be giving the opening address.
Now for the good news, the additions to the schedule:

Critical Theatre will perform Friday night at Esozone.
Started in February 2000 as vehicle for music, performance and neoteric ritual by Maxwell Benedetti. A few rotating members over the years. Critical Theatre strive to be music/art/ritual as life, they strive to put spirit in this primal music we make and they hope that it may serve in the helps of; connection, meditation, dance, exorcisms, safe and consensual sexual interactions, ritual, healing, catharsis, catalyst and enjoyment. They strive to experiment and explore many types of instruments and equipment. They strive to give reverence to a pantheon of different musical gods who haunt the primitive world, the suburbs, the ghettos and (and yet!) untouched forests. We strive to explore the music of inner/outer space. They strive to use music to help access, acknowledge and identify hidden “parts” of the subconscious and giving them voices and expression, for these “parts” are our insane inner children. They strive to be urban shamen, post apocalyptic witches…etc. You get the idea?
Plus: the Young Jungs will make their world debut. A hyperfictional noise improv band that has recently and unexpectadly come into existence, Young Jungs consists of Esozone art director Daniel Rafatpanah (vocals) Midnight Magickal Mass co-conspirator and all-around mystery man “Chris” (percussion), and Esozone executive director Klint Finley’s alter-ego “The Psychetect” (electronics).
But wait, there’s more!
metavirus 101 with deadletter b: Complex adaptive systems manifest their change singularities through expressions of meta. Feedback loop conclusions result in disproportionate response, which can be observed and facilitated by observers. Learn to recognize initiation and completion of feedback loops in the decision making processes of individuals, groups, and large scale awareness. Ethics of manipulating complex systems, including likely outcomes of triggering the allergic reactions of collective entities, will be discussed.
Cutting-Up Scissors and glue will be made available for a group cut-up session. Bring text and imagery, swap with others, and collaborate on magickal collages.
Independent Media discussion Have experience producing your own zines, albums, books, comics, movies, etc? Do you want to? Come swap stories or ask questions with fellow media mutants.

Esozone strives to be as interactive and audience-centric as possible. So we’d like to encourage all attendees to bring their favorite bits of mad science and occult technology to Esozone and show it off during our show and tell session on Sunday, October 12th.
