Lack of funds. The flight back and the ticket to the event were covered, just didn’t end up with what I needed to help my ridemates out. Gonna try again next year, though, and I’m looking forward to what the organizers are cooking up.
It seemed a re-iteration of things I’d already read or knew about from 20 years ago. Although I like the general idea of the cultural counter-curse activities, etc.. All too often there’s a couple of key personalities that hog the limelight who just turn out to be driven quasi narcissist/sociopath mediocrities and no one seems to care or notice as long as they have dreads and they’ve dyed them purple, etc.. Things get diluted with tedium/idiocy/partying. Intentions are good but somehow things don’t ever seem to gel at these venues. “In group/out group.” It’s a tough theme to try to get people to consolidate over since this area is so populated with proud individualist/rebel/non-conformists who revel in their outsider ‘tudes. So much so that they’ve forgotten how to congregate with collective panache ! Blah-blah. Stoners and alcoholics bore the shit out of me. And so do gays who are convinced that their sexual orientation implies anything other than they like to have sex with people their own gender. ZZZZzzzz. Old dudes dressing like the devil reminds me of derelict carnies trying to get laid. The Amok catalog meets Fellini Satyricon ? Anyway…I wouldn’t know what to wear. I liked Clyde Lewis’ talk that he put up on the net already.
I was scared of all the crazy sorcerers.

Would have been there, if it weren’t 5 or so thousand miles away. UK Esozone, go!

Bought weekend pass again, and again did not make it. Hope to make it next year, and I’m happy to support the event regardless.
