Operating under the radar in London, UK, Foolish People create a theatre of the absurd that is the true successor of the Grand Guiginol, Albert Camus and Austin Osman Spare. There is quite literally no way to explain the experience of Foolish People live; it resembles an organic multi-media presentation undergoing hyperevolution, more resembling the Pied Piper than most of what passes for “art”. Every aspect of human society is represented and no punches are pulled. From vivisection to neocolonialism, all subjects are treated with an urgent tone of magickal realism. You will be shocked, you will be scared, but above all you will be changed at FP’s American debut..
The Red King introduces a completely new form of performance, a ritualized style that is proving influencial throughout the underground. Certainly, these performances break the conventional idea of what a live ‘band’ can achieve. Combining aspects of bhuto, ritual, alchemy, medicine, and chemistry, all the senses become involved in a ritualistic transformation. Elements of earth, fire, water, and air take shape as The Red King summons the neccessary spirits for a communal experience. Additional muses and familiars contibute dance, cinema, performance art, costuming, and musical interpretation. Among many past contributers are Ouroborus Press, A Minority of one, Stella Morgana, VIAL, LaughingCrowe, AJNA, Anima Nocturna, and Chymica Spiritus. In addition, those who attend one of these rare shows and are willing to subject themselves to the dangers involved in a Red King ritualistzed performance are rewarded in mind, body and spirit. Audience members are encouraged to participate as interaction is the highest level of understanding….

Azphodel was formed as the main recording and performance vehicle of Zane Lazos’s solo and collaborative work. Having played bass guitar for many years, Near-Eastern percussion, Turkish bağlama saz, Bulgarian gajda and academic study in music eventually led him to the Turkish yaylı tanbur and electronic music composition and performance. Azphodel is the culmination and continuation of his efforts to restore and maintain a balance in his life of the primal and the technological in music. Lazos will be joined on stage by percussionist Michael Beach and other performers.
Zephyr or Anvkin is an active DJ in the California Bay Area electronic music scene. After experiencing the rave circuit in the early 90’s he had decided to foster a bold music movement with aligning with various underground collectives through out the greater San Francisco, Oakland, and Santa Cruz areas.
In May of 1997, along with other like minded individuals, he launched the R.A.S. Collective. This group would be responsible for a myriad of free renegade outdoor events, as well as indoor parties from 1997 till 2001. During this time Anvkin also played on a weekly basis for various venues, warehouse parties, and outdoor campouts. He was a reoccurring guest for the KZSU (Stanford) winter solstice shows. From 2005 - 2006 Anvkin had gained residency at Club Anton on Oakland, as well as a weekly Friday night
net-broadcast on Retroforward Radio (9Pm till 9Am). As of late Anvkin does a weekly Friday net-broadcast with Project Freecast (freecast.co.uk) as well as weekly submissions for Irrealty.net.
Jessica and Andrew met in the beginning of 2005 after leaving previous projects in search of a vision they found was shared by each of them. Stalking Jane juxtaposes organic human elements with their mechanical counterparts through neo classical arrangements and carefully crafted soundscapes. Jessica’s haunting and soulful voice is a natural fit for Andrew’s combination of electronic alchemy and live instrumentation. Tyler joined in the summer of 2005 to bring excess within control that can soulfully embellish the songs or drive them with his frenzied guitar playing.
Nemo says, “One day in 2000, I decided to use my left hand to draw instead of my right. Then I said; ‘what’s stopping me from using both hands at once..? Only the belief that I can’t.’ Since then, I’ve been experimenting with ambidextrous art as a method of harmonizing both halves of the brain and quieting the chattering ego. When I discovered that Haitian Vodou sorcerers are called Boko (or Bokor), meaning ‘he who uses both hands’ - I chose that name to refer to my art and philosophy of unity among duality. Since 2003 I’ve painted ambidextrously on stage at concerts and festivals, painting two canvases with both hands simultaneously in a single set - including at the base of Japan’s Mt. Fuji in April 2005.”
